Fashion, as we all know, is a changing and capricious lady: what still until yesterday was part of the collections of all fashion designers, and hung on each hanger in stores mass markets, tomorrow can now move on to better life. However, there are garments that are always far from all trends, and can be important yesterday, today and tomorrow; for example, high black collars or long jackets. They can buy even the most addicted to the new seasons without fear that they are irrelevant next week or even next year.
Viral Hub studied the fashion trends that have survived for several decades and found 11 garments that should be in the wardrobe of any woman who wants to go to fashion, regardless of the latest designs.
Elongated jackets
The jacket that was introduced in the women’s wardrobe thanks to Coco Chanel, during its existence has undergone many transformations. Of simple and crossed buttoning, with and without buttons, up to the waist and elongated until almost reaching the knees, black and pink. There were many variants of jackets throughout their existence.
However, it is the elongated jacket that has endured invariably in the world of fashion, especially its classic double-breasted model with two rows of buttons. As for the colour, the preference (if we are talking about a universal model) is based on neutral colours: black, white and navy blue.
- With what to take it: with anything. A pleated skirt and pencil, classic jeans or boyfriend, with a blouse, shirt or nothing underneath, the important thing is to choose the right combination of colours.
Straight cut jeans
Jeans trousers change almost every year: today, mom-jeans are at the top of fashion and tomorrow lose their relevance, and Skinny occupies the first place. However, straight and classic jeans, with a regular fit (the beltline extends just below the navel) never lose their relevance. The universals must be dark blue without wear of any kind, or other “defects” as, of course, not shortened.
- What to wear: classic jeans are perhaps the freest garment in the entire wardrobe. With it you can wear any upper part and type of footwear, since the style can be different, from a romantic one to a country one. It adapts easily to any image: the same pants can look different if you fold them down or leave them completely straight, as well as combined with belts of different models. Elongated jackets
Classic pants
Another element of the male wardrobe adapted to the female figure by Coco Chanel herself, and included in the world of women’s fashion thanks, in large part, to Marlene Dietrich. It has already become an indispensable part of the so-called basic wardrobe. For the classic trouser model to fit an image, it is worth giving preference to models that fit the figure with a straight or slightly flared cut from the hip, as well as adjusted to the waist, made with good fabrics. quality and preferably in black or dark blue.
- With what to wear: in addition to the image of a businesswoman with blouses and classic shoes, this type of pants also allows you to create casual style outfits. They can be worn with a t-shirt, a sailor and as warm clothes, bombers and jackets of various lengths, including elongated ones and leather bikers, will be fine
“Fisherman” sweater
The sweater of the “fisherman” (or Aran) came to the fashion world thanks to the wardrobe of the Irish sailors, thus becoming an integral piece, not only of the masculine wardrobe but also of the feminine wardrobe. These sweaters are easy to distinguish from the rest by their pattern, which resembles intertwined ropes, symbolizing fishing nets. The sweaters of the “fisherman”, as a rule, are based on nature’s own colours: white, beige, green, grey, brown … If you want to buy something universal, it is best to opt for white or beige models.
- With what to wear: pleated long skirts, jeans with any cut (from classic to skinny ), wool or jeans shorts, classic dress or tight: all these garments combine perfectly with the Aran sweater, reducing the level of his brutality.
Bermuda
The shorts of this style were created for the British military who were in the territory of Bermuda. Initially, they had patch pockets, but eventually, a model without them appeared that became the main theme of the women’s wardrobe. For the model to be universal, it is worth choosing a neutral-tone Bermudas 10 centimetres above the knees, with a waist or slightly lower, similar to the classic pants.
- With what to take them: depending on the season and its material, they can be worn with a shirt, t-shirt, sailor, jacket or bomber. When creating an image facing the office, do not forget that the business style does not allow you to have your legs uncovered, so in this case, below the shorts, you must wear flesh-coloured stockings. The shoes are left to your discretion, as long as they are in harmony with the global image.
White canvas sneakers
Every season, sports brands (and not only these) offer us a wide variety of white canvas sneakers of different designs: from those with a typical sole to the frightening models that were at the top of fashion until recently with a platform hidden Not in vain, are these types of shoes that retain their popularity: you can find them not only on the streets of cities but also on the catwalks. So that they are really versatile, you should opt for a classic model, with laces and flat sole of a standard height.
- What you bring: an Although white sneakers are classified as “unisex” may be part of a very feminine image, since you can combine both with wide skirts with floral prints as linen garments. They can complement a set of jean garments, a classic suit and an elegant outfit with a tuxedo. But the creation of an image with a sporty style requires certain skills, as well as the ability to maintain balance by the fine line between good taste and ordinariness.
Classic-cut woollen coat
Although a wool coat of the colour “camel skin” is considered a classic, it will be more demanding in terms of colour combinations. Therefore, if you need a model that complements any set of clothes, you should give preference to the black, white or dark blue version. It is not worth buying an oversize coat, it is better than you look more in tight or straight coats, double-buttoned, with or without a belt, knee or slightly lower. It is also better to depart from the models without buttons because when it is cold they will not be comfortable at all.
- With what to wear them: perhaps, this is one of these rare clothing items that can be combined with almost any clothes and footwear: high collars, sweaters, blouses, jeans, classic pants, maxi and mini dresses, skirts, boots, shoes and even canvas sneakers. The only thing that is not recommended to wear a classic coat is the clear sports style garments.
Parka
This is probably the most controversial item on our list, as they often consider it as the wardrobe of a nature lover. However, it is not worth looking at the parka from afar, since for a long time it has migrated from the hikes through the mountains to the wardrobe of the fashionistas and protagonists of the catwalks. In addition, it is a great alternative to natural fur coats, which are falling into oblivion after being discarded by leading fashion firms. As in most cases, when it comes to the universal, it is best to opt for models of a single colour in calm tones and, better yet, in neutral colours.
- With what to wear: despite its limitations at first glance, the parka can be worn not only with jeans but also with dresses, skirts, complementing both boots and shoes and dense stockings. In addition, with some skill, parkas can complement the more classic and business-like styles.
Black high collar
Black high-necks became fashionable in the 1960s and became so popular among fashionistas that little has changed in the last half-century. They were worn by Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn, for example, and today’s celebrities wear them with pleasure. Despite the variety of colours, a black sweater with a “turtleneck” has become a classic in the world of fashion and must be present in the wardrobe of all those who enjoy the good taste.
- With what to wear them: with any garment. Whichever image you choose, the style of clothing you prefer, you can wear a black high collar anytime and anywhere.
Shirt dress in neutral colours
The shirt dress, although reminiscent of one of the most important vestments of men, is the ideal basis for any image, even the most tender of a woman. Despite the wide variety that we find in terms of models and colours, those who want to invest in something universal should pay attention to the neutral colours and with a classic cut, that is, those that look more like a typical men’s shirt, simply elongated.
- With what to wear: a shirt dress can look good as an independent outfit and, also, work in conjunction with other clothes. You can wear it with tight jeans, tied with a belt or with buttons unbuttoned, also under a sweater or jacket. The classic shoes, sandals, sneakers, canvas and even boots, all this goes well with this dress.
Loafers
The loafers are a clear example of how classic shoes bored at first sight can be the object of a special love for a true fan to dress well. These, visually, are similar in form to the moccasins but are distinguished by having a rigid sole, the presence of a small heel and a buckle or tassels. They gained their popularity in the 60s during the last century (largely, thanks to Grace Kelly) and have not lost it to this day. To choose a model that fits both a skirt and jeans, you should pay attention to brown or black shoes, with metal buckle or leather and heels of a classic height for this model.
- With what to take them: of course, a variant of a win to win image completed with the loafers will be the business style garments (pants or skirt, jacket and blouse). But if the colours are chosen properly, the loafers will also look elegant with jeans of any kind. Do not be afraid to wear them with dresses that emphasize your femininity, since the certain roughness of these shoes will make the image look even more tender.
And you, in your wardrobe do you have garments that will be at the top of the fashion world for centuries?
